Taste of Wine

Saturday, October 21st, 2006

We’re proud to announce the launch of our latest client’s site - winetasteposthaste.

Appreciation of wine is certainly something which one aquires with tasting experience. Winetasteposthaste, an inspired idea from a wine connoisseur of over 45 years, aims to help you gain knowledge of hundreds of wines.

By purchasing the sampler wine packs, you’ll be well on your way towards making an informed authoritative decision as to whether a wine is a classified Pauillac, a super Tuscan or from Clarendon Hills.
This website was a particular pleasure to work on, using rich, luscious colour and imagery associated with wine. Its concept of providing visitors with informative taster packs is e-commerce at its best - a unique, niche idea yet with a broad audience.

Before long – a look, a sniff, a slurp, and you’ll have the identity of that wine commited to your mind forever.

Online Retailing

Friday, April 28th, 2006

I was reading some pretty amazing stats recently. Apparently, there are 34.3 million internet users the the UK, representing 57% of the country. Only Denmark, Holland and Norway have a higher penetration of users, but the UK has the greatest number of surfers overall.

‘The 2006 State Of Retailing Online’ report, compiled by Forrester Research and published by Shop.org, predicts there will be a 20% rise of revenues online.

What all this means is that e-commerce has well and truly shaken off the shackles of the dot com boom-and-bust. Fast broadband connections and usability considerations by retailers have made shopping online a desirable alternative to braving the high street.

As the penetration of internet users in the UK continues to grow, so does the readiness of surfers to spend online. It’s not just young users, either. Affluent so-called ’silver surfers’ are quickly becoming the true movers and shakers of the net.

Harnessing this demographic could be key to remaining competitive in an increasingly tough retail market. Special considerations to usability and accessibility must be made for the age group – usage in the group is increasing in spite of a lack of tech-savvy, and disabilities often become more apparent with age.

Clicked On could help place your company at the forefront of online retailing. We can advise on the best way to implement e-commerce for your retail operation, and build a killer e-commerce site.
